Problem: Our nations DYI backyard food-farmers require infrastructure improvements to ensure local resiliency thru dangerous weather events.
Solution: Welcome to the Chill Hours project for a new North American initiative to increase urban and suburban Victory Garden resilience in markets prone to freezing temperatures by partnering with urban farming providers like fruit-tree giveaways, to ensure that our local gardeners have the protection they need to over-winter their resources thru crippling cold weather events. Through an increase in availability and help covering associated costs, the Chill Hours project seeks to provide resources for residential gardeners where currently they are underserved by the retail market, as freezing weather strikes when garden centers are focused almost solely on Christmas themed mechandise. By partnering with existing local innitiatives, we aim to provide the very affordable and easy to implement solution for the grassroots farmers garden to survive freezing temps, with a goal of increasing the resiliency of North America’s home-grown food supply.
